On July 1, 2017, Canada’s 150th Birthday, the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club will be honoring those original members of the Ottawa Hunt Club (1908) who served and died during World War I. In this one hundredth year of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, the club will be planting a Vimy Oak tree and unveiling a plaque to commemorate the sacrifices of those members who served in the Great War. The oak tree is a direct descendent of oaks that stood witness to the Battle of Vimy Ridge, April 9 – 12, 1917.
